Author photo and bio on rear panel is clean. There is also a two-inch ragged tear at bottom of front panel near spine with horizontal creases extending across jacket to front flap. Color pictorial jacket is clean but moderately edngeworn with short tears, several creases and small chips. Cover is clean, extremeties lightly rubbed. Toning to two facing pages in book thanks to an old news clipping, now removed, pages otherwise near fine. A clean, unmarked and tightly bound copy. Endpapers printed with map of the "Cruise of the Caine." VERY GOOD+in GOOD+ dust jacket. Bound in navy blue cloth hardcover with silver stamping on spine. Unclipped dust jacket has $3.95 on front flap - rear flap and back panel refers "City Boy" rather than "The City Boy," indicating this is not the first printing,though it is early - possibly the second.
